Tawna Fenske, wonderful blogger and author of MAKING WAVES and her latest BELIEVE IT OR NOT, had an incredibly fun post last week on ‘fake words’ (those words which don’t exist but should). This week, to follow up on the great comments left by her readers, she’s posted asking for everyone to write a fake word short story, using all of the fake words that were submitted. The comments are well worth reading!!
This whole situation has me thinking of my least favorite word. Now, there are words I’m not particularly fond of (i.e.: ‘Thing’ I dislike that word, don’t like the sound of it, don’t like using it) but there is one word that just really annoys me (for completely irrational reasons, of course):
‘Broom’
Sounds terrible, and, really, we mop with a mop, vacuum with a vacuum and sweep with a…broom? Ugh…
I told you it was irrational
So, if you have a least favorite word, let me know…

Ointment. Disgusting.

That’s a good one, it actually has sort of a porcine/wound sound to it…
